The short version: you can use Fuel Forward without an account, and then everything stays on your own phone. If you sign in, we store your email address and your setup so it follows you between devices. We don't ask for your last name, phone number or address. We don't sell anything to anyone. Your searches and any fridge photos go to an AI service to write recipes, and nothing identifies you when they do.
What's saved on your device
When you set up a profile or save a recipe, that information is stored in your own browser. If you're not signed in, that is the only place it exists β clearing your browser data erases it for good. That includes:
- Your avatar, first name and last initial
- Your allergens and dietary restrictions
- Recipes you've hearted
- Your most recent search filters
If you sign in
Signing in is optional β the whole app works without it. You sign in by entering your email address and tapping a link we send you, so there's no password involved.
If you do sign in, we store, in a database run by Supabase:
- Your email address, used only to sign you in. We won't send you newsletters or anything else, and we won't give it to anyone.
- Your profile β avatar, first name, last initial, allergens and dietary restrictions.
- Your saved recipes, so they're there when you sign in on another phone.
That's the whole list. Your searches, your filters and your fridge photos are notstored in your account. The database is set up so that a signed-in person can only ever read or write their own rows β your saved recipes aren't reachable by anyone else using the app.
What gets sent to us
When you search for recipes, your choices are sent to our server so an AI can write recipes that fit them: how long until your next game, your goals, allergens, diet, cook time, budget, and anything you typed into the search or βother goalβ box.
Your name is notincluded. We don't keep a copy of your searches after the recipes come back.
Fridge photos
If you use Snap Fridge, your photo is shrunk down in your browser and sent to an AI service that reads which ingredients it can see. We don't store the photo, and it isn't attached to you or your profile. Once the ingredients come back, the photo is done with.
Point the camera at food, not at people β the photo does leave your phone, so it's worth being deliberate about what's in the frame.
The AI service we use
Recipes and photo reading are handled by OpenAI. OpenAI states that information sent through its API is not used to train its models and is deleted within 30 days. We have no control over their systems beyond what we send them, which is described above.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages people actually use β for example, whether Snap Fridge gets used at all. It records things like which pages were visited and roughly what part of the world the visit came from. We never send your name, your allergens, or anything you typed. You can block it with any ad blocker or browser tracking protection and the app will still work normally.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your information with anyone.
- We don't show ads.
- We don't ask for your phone number, home address, school, or last name.
- We don't track you across other websites or build an advertising profile.
How old you need to be
Fuel Forwardis meant for high school athletes and you should be 13 or older to use it. If you're under 13, please don't create a profile. If you're a parent and you believe your under-13 child has entered information here, email us at iamkeithr@gmail.comand we'll help you clear it.
Deleting your information
Go to your profile and use Delete everything. If you're not signed in, that wipes your profile, saved recipes and filters from this device. If you are signed in, it does that and deletes your account β your email address, profile and saved recipes are removed from the database, immediately and for good.
There's no waiting period and nothing is kept in an archive. If the delete fails for any reason the app will tell you so rather than pretending it worked, and you can email iamkeithr@gmail.com to have it done by hand.
Signing out is not the same as deleting β it just ends the session and leaves everything where it is.
Changes to this page
If we start storing anything differently, this page will be updated to say exactly what changed, and the date at the top will change with it.
